"BHARAT KA DUSSEHRA" Handpainted Madhubani Bandhini Tussar Silk Saree
Ek festival anek roop.
India is the epitome of cultural diversity. While the world tries to adjust and accommodate outside cultures, we
have our own variations that every 100 miles exposes a new ritual and celebration. It may be difficult for many to
understand, but we from Bharat simply seem to infuse it in our day to day. We know there are differences. We may
not be experts of every single cultural variation of the subcontinent but we know the core celebration and its essence is
a thread that ties and keeps us all together. We happily discuss "hamare yahan aisa hotha hai..." and share our
happiness in dabbas to our neighbors, be it sundal from golu, farsan from gujrati navrathri, bhog from bengal or
the chat stalls from lucknow and dilli!. Hamare yahan sab kuch hotha hai.
This saree the “Bharat ka Dussehra” is a representation of who I am today.
With my Madras birth and upbringing, golu has always been a part of my childhood. Dressed up
nicely each evening a bunch of girls diligently carrying a wire basket to collect our sundal, seepu
(comb) and kannadi (small mirror) once we sing Devi songs that is. Devi is worshipped sincerely, including
Lalitha Sahasranamam chants and puja everyday at home and temples. “Hibiscus” is common and
omnipresent during these days!
For those who seek the touch of spirituality in their ensemble, the "GULABI DURGA" saree is a perfect choice. Every thread, every stroke of paint, carries the essence of devotion and celebration.
The Tussar silk material also gives a luxurious and handmade rich feel to the saree
